Selected favorite wildcard fictional story #2: Banquet where they first met at Originally Written 15 Apr 2013

Salt Lake City, UT

Lavadas in North Little Rock where Norman & Lana got married.

Little Rock, AR

It was 15 years ago when a divorced father of 3 boys met a divorced mom of 2 girls in Little Rock, AR. Norman Hill and his ex-wife got a divorce after 10 years of marriage. Norman, is an Entrepreneur who has traveled all over the world. He moved from Salt Lake City, UT to Little Rock. Norman met this beautiful blond hair and green eyes woman named Lana Patterson then at a banquet. They introduced themselves and had a chance to talk to each other. Norman and his ex-wife had a rocky marriage and she never liked the idea about him traveling all over the world out of the country like that. Norman was always supportive of his ex-wife career but she didn't seem to have that same interest when it came to things that Norman wanted to do. It led to a big argument and it was a big blow to their marriage.

Meanwhile, speaking of rocky marriages, Lana herself, got out of 2 rocky marriages herself. Lana's first husband was verbally abusive to her and he never really showed her that he loved her. They had one child together, a daughter and her daughter endured watching her mom be put down. Lana's first husband of 7 years and Lana got a divorce. Lana vowed to herself that she would never marry another guy that was like her first husband. Lana met a guy, who was really sweet and treated her really good, for the first 2 years that they were married, Lana felt that she met her soul mate but her second husband started to change and he began to get jealous when guys would say "hi" to her just being friendly. Lana is outgoing and she love to talk to people. She have that way about her where everyone that she meets feel comfortable telling her things. Lana and her second husband had a child together and it was a girl. Lana have 2 daughters by 2 different husbands and both marriage's were rocky. Her second husband became controlling and told her who she could talk to and got upset when other guys were friendly saying "hi" to her. Her husband's controlling ways went on the last 3 years of their marriage. Lana and her second husband divorced after 5 years of marriage.

Norman and Lana met at this banquet and they had a conversation with each other and they were so attuned to what each other had to say. Norman 33 years old then, was telling his story about how he got married young at the age of 20 and was married 10 years until him and his ex-wife divorced. Norman wanted to meet a woman that he can share things with and that will be supportive of his career the same way he will be supportive of her career. Lana was listening and could sense that Norman was the one for her. Lana 31 years old then, was in tears and broke down and told Norman about her 2 marriage failures with her 2 ex-husbands. Lana told Norman that she never felt comfortable saying anything because her ex-husbands made her feel like nothing she ever did was right. Lana felt insecure because her ex-husbands were always insecure, that they were always controlling, and that they were verbally abusive to her.

Norman told Lana these words, "Lana I am sorry that a beautiful woman like you went through something like that. If you were my wife I would show you all the time how much I love you because I would make sure that I would put you over my career. I would make sure that I would be supportive of anything that you were interested in."

Lana was so moved by what Norman said and said, "I could tell by the way you are that you know how to love a woman."

Norman and Lana danced to the song You Make Me Feel Brand New, the song highlighted Norman's love that he showed to Lana. Lana at age 33 and Norman age 35 got married 2 years after they met each other at the banquet and became Mr. & Mrs. Norman Hill. Norman was glad he left Salt Lake City and moved to Little Rock. Lana and Norman have been married 13 years now. Their children are all grown and on their own. Norman and Lana never thought that a banquet would be the place where they would chat and it wound up being the best experience that ever happened to them and how they became husband & wife. http://citysuburb.wix.com/pauls-writing-style/apps/blog/fiction-story-banquet-where-they-first-met

Not all stories of people who fall in love come easy. Norman Hill was married and Norman and his ex-wife divorced after 10 years of marriage. Lana Patterson between her 2 marriages combined was married 12 years (7 years with her first husband & 5 years with her second husband). Norman and Lana combined have 5 children from previous marriages with their ex-spouses (Norman 3 boys and Lana 2 girls). If you want to talk about people who know what it is like to go through a breakup Norman and Lana know's what it is like to go from being married to being single like people who go from being in a relationship to being single. It was not pretty and there are stories like this that represented how sometimes people can fall in love or at least they think they fell in love with who they thought was the right person but realized that wound up marrying the wrong person. Norman and Lana meets at this banquet in Little Rock as a way of healing from all the pain that they went through in their marriages to their former spouses'. Norman moved from Salt Lake City to help get over the rough divorce he went through and Lana thought this banquet would be a way to reflect on the verbal abuse that she went through in her 2 marriages. You Make Me Feel Brand New is kind of song that people who have been through things and can start brand new. Norman and Lana danced to this very song and found out that they were supposed to cross paths and be husband and wife and there would be no more divorce or trying to find love anymore. Norman and Lana are soulmates. This is my #2 favorite wildcard fictional story.
